Where to donate books other then the library? - why cant a woman donate platelets
I have some old books and tried to give some items to the library, but this woman told me how very rude, I might add, I had to give their habits to keep, the book can not exceed 3 years, I have so few books in good condition, but honestly, I will not go back and listen to your setting. Are there other places that I could donate my books that I thank you?
I live in Los Angeles, if that makes any difference.

As a librarian, I am surprised by the reception he received in the library. Regularly accept donations and we thank everyone, even though most of the books donated to the collection is not being added, which is not to say that we sell in our Annual Booksale.
Most public libraries, especially in big cities are a group of Friends of the Library Booksale organized to raise funds for library projects. The Los Angeles Public Library is a large and active group of friends, and you can make a donation directly to them - I am sure that I give a warmer reception in the library does not work.
You can sell your books on Ebay, or used at a local bookstore. They are not much, but it is enough to buy another book to be.

Try it with the schools and libraries! The bookstores often give a small sum when the books are in very good condition! If you can get a "Hastings there" books you credit for new books! Anyway I hope this helps a little! Oh yes, try a church or homeless shelter, when the books are good for a community of the Church. Good luck, hey, if it is a crime story LOL!

I second comment, that if the hospital is a place where they are absolutely necessary. You can also try a womans protection and even goodwill.
